Article III of the constitution created the Judicial branch. This branch was designed to interpret the law, determine the constitutionality of the law, and finally to apply it to individual cases. There are three different types of federal courts. The first is the District courts, then the appellate court or appeals, then the supreme court the highest court in all of the land. At the Supreme court justices chooses cases they want to take. The Supreme court is currently occupied by 9 people

Did you know? Each judge in the Supreme Court is nominated by a  President and approved by Senate. Once elected each justice serves a life term.
